THORNWAKE MANOR INVESTIGATION
CASE SUMMARY
LOCATION: THORNWAKE MANOR
ORIGINAL INCIDENT: OCTOBER 31, 1892
THORNWAKE MANOR was built by "philanthropist" ALISTAIR THORNWAKE, known for collecting what he called UNLUCKY HEIRLOOMS: a child's scorched music box, a widow's unworn wedding dress, a soldier's letters never sent. He claimed he was "saving history."
Intelligence reveals the mansion's architecture was designed to TRAP EMOTIONAL RESIDUE. Velvet walls that "remember" whispered fights. Chandeliers that hum with last dances. A basement lined with salt-brick that pulls sorrow out of wood like brine. Objects here don't just hold dust—they hold EMOTIONAL VALUE.
A fortune teller entity known as MONSIEUR ZALTAR arrived during the manor's golden age. He can touch an object and "taste" what it meant to someone. HE FEEDS ON EMOTIONAL WORTH. After feeding, objects become hollow—still there, but wrong.
